He was a student of Viswanatha Satyanarayana and worked as a lecturer at Andhra Loyola College for 40 years. His collection, Peddibhotla Subbaramayya Kathalu (Volume-1), won the Central Sahitya Akademi Award in 2012. His first story was 'Chakranemi' and his first novel, ‘Dhruvatarlu,’ was published in Andhrapatrika weekly.
Ancient Sataka Literature in Telugu: The Sataka literary form began in Telugu in the 12th century. Mallikharjuna Panditudu was the first to write a Sataka, though it lacked complete characteristics. Palakuriki Somanatha's Vrushadhipa Satakam is considered the first Satakam with complete characteristics. The five principal characteristics of a Satakam are numerical rule (సంఖ్యా నియమం), Makutam (మకుట నియమం), meter rule (వృత్తి నియమం), Muktaka rule (ముక్తక నియమం), and Atmanubhuti (ఆత్మానుభూతి).
Dr. Dilawar’s short story collection “Chandrudu Giyyani Bommalu”: The collection, published in August 2016, has 15 stories. The stories focus on the lives of Bahujan communities, their struggle for existence, and their shattered lives. The stories 'Maro Shakuntalam,' 'Padma Lesipoyindi,' 'Edari Bathukulu,' 'Teej,' 'Moodu Taralu,' and 'Urithallu' are analyzed.
